What is stored
Three things, all needed to make the site work, and none of them suitable for following you.
Your language choice
Name: spiti_taal. Stored in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie. Stays until you clear it.
Why: so that on a later visit you are not sent again to a language you had just navigated away from.
Your guest key
Name: spiti_gidssleutel. Stored in your browser's session storage. Gone as soon as you close the tab.
Why: so the private part of the island guide stays open while you read it, without typing the key again.
The admin session
Name: spiti_sessie. This one is a real cookie, but only for us: it appears only when a member of the family logs in to the admin panel. It expires after twelve hours and cannot be read by scripts.
As a guest you never receive this cookie.
Why no banner
Storage strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for does not require consent. That applies to all three above. If we ever add anything for statistics or advertising, we will ask first.
Google typefaces
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. No cookie is placed, but Google does see your browser's IP address. We are considering serving those files ourselves, which would remove that as well.
Clearing it yourself
Everything above can be thrown away through your browser settings, under clearing site data. The site will keep working afterwards; it will simply have forgotten your language choice.
